The problem: a full cart is not a sale

A loaded cart is the strongest buying signal a store ever gets, and most of them still end in a closed tab. A shipping surprise, a forced login, a moment of doubt — and the shopper who was seconds from paying is gone, usually for good.

An abandoned cart is not the same problem as churn, and the two need different answers. Churn is a customer drifting away over weeks; an abandoned cart is a sale interrupted mid-decision, and the recovery window is measured in hours.

Recovery that starts from behaviour

The storefront pixel sees the abandonment as it happens — which products were in the cart and where the session stalled. ChurnMiser drafts the recovery message from that context and sends it while intent is still warm, by email or SMS.

When a discount is warranted, it is sized against that customer’s history instead of a store-wide blanket code, so recovery does not quietly train your best customers to abandon on purpose.

Why it belongs in a retention platform

For a repeat customer, an abandoned cart is often the first visible symptom of lapsing — the reorder they almost placed. Recovering it feeds the same segments and churn scores as everything else, so a rescued cart updates the customer’s risk picture the same night.
